About Digital Youth
"Kids' Informal Learning with Digital Media: An Ethnographic Investigation of Innovative Knowledge Cultures" is a three-year collaborative project funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Game Play
Looking at the emergence of networked gaming, the Game Play study examines the complex relationship between teenagers and video games. The study focused upon the ways in which gamers create and experiment with different identities, learn through informal processes, craft peer groups, develop a variety of cognitive, social, and emotional skills, and produce significant textual artifacts (such as information, comments, reviews, music videos, and game videos) through digital play.
